This Thursday, June 27, Prince Harry spoke about the death of his mother, Lady Diana, and how he coped with grief.

Prince Harry talks about a painful period in his life. 26 years ago, the whole world learned of the tragic death of Lady Diana. On vacation in Paris, the Princess of Hearts was the victim of a car accident under the Alma bridge while her car was trying to flee the paparazzi. Terrible news for the British and the royal family but more particularly for his two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, who never recovered from his disappearance.

For several weeks, Meghan Markle’s husband has been very discreet and his appearances have become rare but this Thursday, June 27, he made a moving speech for a video from the Scotty’s Little Soldiers association – the aim of which is to support children of deceased soldiers. He spoke about his personal experience and how he dealt with the death of his mother: “You convince yourself that the person you lost wants you, or that you have to be sad as long as possible to show them that you miss them. But then you realize that no, she wants you to be happy,” he explained before adding that he had to undergo therapy in order to understand and accept his emotions.

Prince Harry then delivered a message of tolerance and hope: “It’s the hardest thing, especially for children, to say to themselves: ‘I don’t want to talk about it because it will make me sad, but once I realize that if I talk about it, I honor them, suddenly things become easier.” »

This is not the first time that Prince Harry has spoken openly about the death of his mother. In his autobiographical book “The Substitute”, he recounts how he and his brother heard the news and how they coped with it: “He sat (King Charles III) on the edge of the bed. He placed a hand on my knee. “My darling boy, mom had an accident.” And I remember patiently waiting for Dad to confirm that Mom was okay. And I remember he didn’t. »

Since Lady Diana’s death, the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex have regularly paid tribute to her.
