More than a year after Starfield's release, Bethesda continues to update the game, and the latest patch has just arrived. It contains more than 25 fixes and improvements, of which here is the complete list.
A new Starfield update with the return of uncapped framerate on Xbox
Starfield update 1.14.74 has just exited its beta phase and is now available on Xbox Series X|S. It contains fixes for various quests and performance improvements, such as the reintroduction of the unlimited refresh option on Xbox Series X. Here are the full patch notes.
General
- General performance and stability improvements.
- The unlimited refresh rate option is available again for Xbox Series X users.
- The message of the day is systematically displayed on Xbox.
- Fixed an issue preventing some console commands from disabling achievements.
- Shattered Space proof of ownership displays correctly for Steam users.
Features
- Creation Kit: Lipsync animation data generation is now available.
Gameplay
- The duration effect of the Annihilator's particle beam no longer triggers companion reactions.
- Fixed an issue with the Leadership skill preventing companions from speaking up.
- Improved how the stealth gauge works near NPCs.
- Fixed an issue allowing destroyed ships to be loaded without collision.
- Fixed an issue causing the player to move to an unwanted location when loading a save game that relied on missing content.
- Tracker Alliance – Caf will correctly count the number of bounties obtained.
- Stalker Alliance – Bounty targets will appear on Akila, Gagarin and Cydonia.
- Alliance of Stalkers – Fixed an issue allowing the player to receive additional credits by extorting the target and then killing them.
- Stalker Alliance – Targets will have more varied appearances.
- Tracker Alliance – Targets will be deleted after validating the bounty and leaving the area.
- Alliance of Trackers – Extorting or bribing a target with a bounty is no longer successful every time.
Quests
- The Star Thief – The correct quest objective will be displayed when the player boards the seedy Watchdog.
- Legacy of the Hook – Fixed an issue where the door could not be opened with the key if the player left the area.
- The Duel – If the player attacks Danika and is stopped, they can talk to her again to complete the quest.
- The Scaled Citadel – Anasko's Identification Key is marked as a quest item.
- What Remains – Fixed an issue preventing you from interacting with the Oracle Hatch when certain creations are installed.
- What Remains – The Tech Center Access Card is marked as a quest item.
- A House Divided – The doors to the X-ray center will remain unlocked during this quest if the player leaves the area and returns.
- A House Divided – The player can obtain a pass from Madri once the quest is completed.
- Zealous Grasp – Fixed an issue that could occur if Va'ruun Zealots outside the Epsilon Secret Station were killed before receiving the quest.
- Zealous Grasp – Fixed an issue that could prevent the player from talking to Razma or Viktor if the quest “Conflict of Belief” starts at the same time.
- Zealous Grasp – Vortex Ghosts no longer spawn close enough to interrupt a negotiation scene.
Remember that even if you have an Xbox Game Pass Standard subscription, you cannot play the game, since Starfield is not available in this plan, nor in Xbox Game Pass Core, moreover.
Note that the second Starfield expansion will be available somewhere in 2025 and that if its content is currently unknown, its name could be Starborn, the English term for an Astrian.
