Brigitte Macron has always tried to protect her family from controversies by keeping them away from the spotlight. So, although her two daughters Laurence and Tiphaine sometimes speak up to defend their mother, her son never wanted to speak in public. We ultimately know little about his grandchildren, but the First Lady seems particularly proud of her granddaughter Emma, medical student. Here’s what you need to know.
Brigitte Macron has seven grandchildren
The President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, is a grandfather by marriage. Indeed, Brigitte Macron is the mother of three children, born from her union with her ex-partner André-Louis Auzière and who are themselves parents. The family often comes together to support Emmanuel Macron particularly during the last meetings of the 2017 presidential campaign. Aged 70, the First Lady is a happy grandmother with seven grandchildren. She also shares many moments with them, which her daughters sometimes post on their social networks.
First there are Paul and Camille, the children of her eldest son Sébastien Auzière, aged 49. He works as an engineer. Then come Emma, Alice and Thomas, the children of her daughter Laurence Auzière, aged 47, and the radiologist Guillaume Jourdan from whom she separated in 2021. The latter is a cardiologist, she would also have attended the same classes as Emmanuel Macron. Brigitte Macron is also the grandmother of Élise and Aurèle, who are the children of the youngest, Tiphaine Auzière, aged 40. All three share the same passion: horse riding.. They even participate in competitions.

Some of them are confronted with Parcoursup. They send her their criticisms. The elders also call her regularly in person to exchange with her“, the magazine then revealed.
The latter also seems to be very proud of her seven grandchildren and would not hesitate to paste their feat on the walls of the Élysée, as reported by our colleagues. “She posted a drawing of Emma, Laurence’s daughterin one of the corridors of the Madame wing, and raves about the horse riding prowess of Élise and Aurèle, the children of his youngest Tiphaine”.
Who is Emma, his granddaughter?
Friday May 24, 2024, the eldest Auzière daughter, Laurence, shared a photo of her daughter, expressing her great pride as a mother. Young Emma, born from her union with Guillaume Jourdan, from whom she separated in 2021, passed a particularly difficult medical exam, and she came 35th. Although medicine seems to run in the family – Laurence Auzière is a cardiologist and Guillaume Jourdan is a radiologist – she still had to put in an exceptional amount of work to achieve these results, a determination praised by her mother.
Young Emma Jourdan has many similarities with her mother and grandmother, and not just physical ones. Laurence Auzière told Gala : “Emma is a lot like me: she has just passed the medical exam, while having a passion for drawing“. The First Lady’s youngest daughter indeed studied medicine and worked as a cardiologist, but she also has an art gallery with her new partner, Matthieu Graffensttaden, a French designer and artist. Brigitte Macron is certainly very proud of her granddaughter!
