“I am not yet fully aware of what is happening. It is very violent. Jean-Pierre is no longer here, I am very sad.” Hervé Laudic, the 50-year-old friend and godfather of one of his sons, was very moved on the phone on Tuesday, July 2, when talking about the sudden death of Jean-Pierre Lorgeoux, victim of a heart attack, at his home. The day before, this Locminé lover, football fan and political enthusiast was in the city’s polling stations, as a poll watcher.

“It’s terrible”

A few days earlier, Jean-Pierre Lorgeoux, 59, was also at the general meeting of Saint-Colomban, his lifelong club, to present his last report as secretary. It was the season of his 51st license for the man who was to remain on the board of directors. “For this last report, he couldn’t even finish his speech because he was so moved,” Hervé Laudic recalls, stunned. “To leave like that, all of a sudden, is terrible. I am devastated by this loss. Jean-Pierre was jovial, dynamic, he was one of my few very good friends.” Also secretary of the Locminé sports office, Jean-Pierre Lorgeoux was tipped, in recent days, to become the next president of the Brittany Football League.
