Garmin has started releasing a new stable update for the Fenix 7 and Fenix 7 Pro, which should also be available on the Enduro 2, Epix 2, Marq 2 and Quatix 7 (currently $349.99 at Amazon), among other other high-end smartwatches. As a reminder, system software 19.34 replaces version 18.16, which arrived in early October to resolve various outstanding bugs.
That being said, software 19.34 is the first major software release for the Fenix 7 and its peers since the introduction of software 18.14 over two months ago. Unsurprisingly, the new update contains a plethora of improvements that span a fourteen-line changelog.
For example, Garmin added saved routes and locations to the device’s backups, making the service more useful than it was before. Additionally, system software 19.34 is said to improve map controls while adjusting the sensitivity of the Fenix 7 and its peers to automatically detecting the start of climbing activity.
Ultimately, the new update mainly focuses on fixing bugs, including one that could delay the flashlight turning on when using a Connect IQ watch face. Additionally, Fenix 7 owners may have noticed in previous versions that pool swimming activities were sometimes recorded with zero distance, which should now be fixed. For reference, the full changelog for system software 19.34 is as follows:
- Added saved classes and locations to device backups.
