Since mid-afternoon on Tuesday, November 26, all residents of Vieille-Brioude have been without gas due to a leak. No human damage was reported.

Already closed since this summer due to work, Avenue du Pont in Vieille-Brioude was locked by the gendarmerie on Tuesday, November 26. The fault was a gas leak, accidentally caused by the workers. Contacted at 3:07 p.m., the firefighters from Brioude, Paulhaguet, Arvant, as well as the team specializing in technological risks from Puy-en-Velay quickly intervened on site, under the command of Pascal Perrin. Jointly with GRDF agents, they decreed a reinforced gas procedure, given the location of the incident in the city center.

The police and firefighters intervened to secure the town center of Vieille-Brioude, after a gas leak.

Less than two hours later, the leak was cut off by GRDF agents, without any human damage being observed. Ventilation of nearby buildings quickly brought the gas concentration back to 0. However, to resolve this incident, GRDF agents were forced to cut off the gas throughout the town.

The gas should return on the evening of this Tuesday, November 26 or morning of this Wednesday, November 27. In the meantime, residents are asked (communication on the internal network in Vieille-Brioude has already been carried out) to turn off their gas-powered appliances, to avoid any further incidents.
