The ex-wife of rapper Nekfeu accuses him of “psychological, sexual and physical violence committed during their relationship, for almost four years”. This is what Me Florence Fekom, the plaintiff’s lawyer, told the Parisian this Monday, confirming the authenticity of a press release emanating from her office and circulating on social networks since Sunday evening.
The rapper reacted this Monday afternoon in a text published by his lawyer, Me Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard, on X (formerly Twitter). Nekfeu denounces “an entirely false and defamatory press release”, which comes “at the very moment when (his ex-wife) was arrested yesterday (Sunday) evening for the worrying disappearance of my 3-year-old son.
What are the accusations about?
Nekfeu’s former partner “in particular denounced acts of rape perpetrated by the latter against her on several occasions”, states the press release, published by her lawyer Me Florence Fekom, according to whom the complainant “is experiencing real hell” .
In detail, the Paris prosecutor’s office assures Le Parisien that “a complaint for rape by a spouse, notably once in Barcelona”, was “filed on December 21, 2022”, but “closed on September 14, 2023, on the grounds that the “the offense was not sufficiently characterized.” “After going to the police station for the first time, the applicant did not show up for any of the eight appointments offered to her by the judicial police service designated to investigate. The accused contested the facts denounced and provided discussions and testimonies to this effect,” affirms the Paris prosecutor’s office.
But, to Le Parisien, Me Florence Fekom affirms that her client refused to file a complaint for these facts for “fear of reprisals in view of the gentleman’s notoriety”, and that it would only be a “denunciation of the facts » and not a complaint.
A desire to file a complaint in June 2024
It would therefore be in June 2024, according to the complainant’s lawyer, that the alleged victim would have decided to “communicate these elements to the courts”. According to Me Fekom, the rapper’s ex-wife was offered to be interviewed by the police station in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, which she refused because she claims to have been “manhandled” there. This is not yet confirmed by the Paris prosecutor’s office. “We ask to be heard by another police station,” says Me Florence Fekom.
“After years lived in silence and fear, she no longer has any other choice but to share this matter publicly, given the differential judicial treatment from which she has suffered for several months,” justifies the press release. “She suffers from severe post-traumatic stress which results, in accordance with the specialist certificates available to her, from the violence inflicted by Mr. Samaras (Nekfeu’s real name). »
How did Nekfeu react?
After remaining silent for a few hours, the rapper reacted through the voice of his lawyer, Me Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard, in a text published this Monday afternoon. Denouncing “an entirely false and defamatory press release”, Nekfeu affirms that the accusations made by his ex-wife, “which have already been dismissed by the courts”, come back “at the very moment when she was arrested yesterday (Sunday) evening for the worrying disappearance of my 3-year-old son. According to him, his former partner has been “currently under judicial control” since September, with “prohibition from approaching the school” of their son.
“Since the divorce proceedings that I initiated 3 years ago and which she never accepted, she tried to use our child to reach me,” writes the rapper, evoking in particular financial blackmail . His former partner allegedly threatened him to “go to the media” if the artist did not “pay him a large sum”. “Despite these unfounded and shocking accusations, she has since been convicted several times. It is in this context that in March 2024 custody of our child was entrusted to me,” he said in his press release.
The rapper also claims to have “already transmitted” to the police the elements proving his “innocence” and the “malicious intentions” of his ex-wife. “She will be judged again in January 2025,” he continues. Nekfeu says he is “all the more saddened and disgusted” because he believes “firmly that we must redouble our efforts to make the voices of women victims of violence heard.” “I myself once said with aplomb that there is smoke without fire on this subject, but life has shown me that on rare occasions other motivations can come into play , that’s my case today,” concludes the rapper.
Is the rapper the subject of other complaints?
These are not the only grievances between Nekfeu and his ex-partner, as specified by the Paris prosecutor’s office and put forward by Me Florence Fekom. First of all, Nekfeu was the target of a “complaint for harassment of an ex-spouse”, which was dismissed “on the grounds that the offense was not sufficiently characterized”.
“She denounced too frequent contacts from her ex-partner or his lawyers in the context of the divorce proceedings, while her ex-partner regularly reported to the police services that he went in vain to the home of his ex- companion on the days when she was supposed to hand over the child to him, without being able to see him,” details the Paris prosecutor’s office. “Divorce (the procedure for which is still in progress, according to Me Florence Fekom)pronounced on March 28, 2024, fixed the residence of the child with his father and granted a right of visitation and accommodation to the mother.
Then, “a report of violence against an ex-spouse in the presence of a minor was closed on January 22, 2024, on the grounds that the offense was not sufficiently characterized”. “She denounced a head to head and the fact that her ex-partner had quickly grabbed the stroller one day when he came to pick up the child,” adds the Paris prosecutor’s office.
A procedure is still underway concerning a “complaint for forgery and use of forgery was filed on May 17, 2024, denouncing the comments made in the certificates submitted in previous procedures”.
Is his ex-partner also targeted?
Likewise, the Paris prosecutor’s office assures that Nekfeu “also filed a complaint on several occasions against his ex-partner, for non-representation of a child”. “Two of these complaints were closed on the grounds that prosecutions appeared disproportionate in view of the situation,” he adds.
Three proceedings remain “initiated”: one concerning a “non-representation of a child on March 29 and 30, 2024” for which the ex-partner is placed under judicial supervision and must be judged on January 29, 2025, another for “no -representation of a child between July 2022 and September 2022″ for which she must appear before a criminal court on the same January 29, 2025. Finally, a third procedure for “non-representation of a child between December 2022 and May 2024” exists, but no hearing date has been communicated.
