A motorcyclist died on Monday June 24, 2024, following a serious traffic accident on the D916 departmental road in Escalquens. Since 4:16 p.m., emergency services from the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service of Haute-Garonne (SDIS 31) have been mobilized to provide assistance to the victims of this accident involving three cars and a motorcycle.
The accident left four victims. Among them, the motorcyclist was found in cardio-respiratory arrest. Despite the resuscitation efforts carried out by a team from the Mobile Emergency and Resuscitation Service (SMUR), the driver of the motorcycle was unfortunately declared deceased. Other victims include one person with minor injuries and two others involved in the crash but not injured.
In addition to the accident victims, a fifth person, not involved in the collision, went to the emergency services due to chest pain and was treated on the spot. The intervention mobilized four engines and eleven firefighters.
Traffic on the D916 is interrupted to allow emergency services to intervene safely.
