The events took place in the pizzeria “L’Olivier” located on rue Ernest-Renan. According to our information, the perpetrator is the son of the restaurant owner. The suspect is known to be a drug addict. He is well known to the police, again according to our information. “He reportedly said he was craving cocaine”according to a source close to the matter.
It was first the firefighters who intervened at the restaurant to take care of the suspect, after a call from one of his relatives. The man then lowered the iron curtain and took the few employees who were present on site hostage. The police were then alerted.
