Monday June 24, 2024, at 7:30 a.m., the firefighters were alerted to a release of smoke in the upper part of the Tipiak company, in Pont-l’Évêque (Calvados).

The Sdis (Departmental Fire and Rescue Service) engaged several resources in the context of a fire in an industrial site. The fire was located in the chimney of an oven in the production area. It was brought under control quickly.

Fifteen firefighters, three command officers including Captain Gilles de Bayeux, Lieutenant Pagnon de Touques and one from Pont-l’Évêque, two fire vans and a lifting arm were engaged to bring the fire under control.

No addicted

Twenty employees were evacuated. No injuries or poisoning were reported.

What are the repercussions for the site and employees? It was still too much to answer at the start of the morning. But the employees in the production area left the premises around 9:30 a.m.
