A man died in Le Havre, Saturday June 22, after being “attacked for reasons unknown by a group of around ten individuals”.

An investigation was opened for murder after the death of a man in Le Havre, the prosecutor of this town of Seine-Maritime said on Sunday, a police source referring to a shot from a “firearm or mortar” in “the face “.

“The victim would have been attacked for reasons unknown by a group of around ten individuals and a shot was fired,” declared prosecutor Bruno Dieudonné.

This shot – which is unknown if it caused the victim’s death – “was fired in circumstances that the murder investigation entrusted to the Rouen judicial police has not yet made it possible to establish”, he pointed out.

A victim aged 18

As it stands, “it is much too early to link these facts to drug trafficking,” noted the magistrate.

According to a local police source, the murder took place on Saturday around 7:40 p.m. in a street located 3 km from Le Havre-Octeville airport. “A gun or mortar would have been used,” and the victim was “aged 18,” said this source.
