Lance Stroll started the Spanish Grand Prix from 14th on the grid and it was in this position that he finished Sunday’s event.

The difficult weekend for the Aston Martin team continued, with neither of its two drivers able to finish in the top 10. Stroll and Fernando Alonso were even beaten by the Alpine of Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon , who finished 9th and 10th respectively.

The Quebecer had indicated the day before that he knew that qualifying would be difficult, having only made it through Q2 with a few dusts, but that he hoped for better for Sunday. He has only finished in the points four times in 10 races this year.

For only the second time in his career, Lando Norris started from pole position. The McLaren driver was surprised by George Russell (Mercedes) and Max Verstappen (Red Bull) from the first corner, but he did not give up.

Norris finished two seconds behind Verstappen, who scored a seventh victory this season. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) completed the top 3, he who is only two podiums away from the 200 plateau.
