(VOVWORLD) – On June 21, the joint venture Vietsovpetro celebrated the 43rde anniversary of its creation (19/6/1981-19/6-2024) and the exploitation of the 250 millionth ton of oil, which took place on May 15.

Vietsovpetro is the most dynamic Russian-Vietnamese joint venture, with a cumulative turnover of $89 billion from the sale of crude oil. Of this total, $58 billion was paid into the Vietnamese state budget.
According to Vu Mai Khanh, the general director of Vietsovpetrothe joint venture is now moving towards the objective of the 300 millionth tonne of oil exploited.
“We ensure the safety of the deposits with a view to stable exploitation, while increasing exploration operations. We have given ourselves the mission of increasing the recovery rate of deposits, expanding our area of operation and creating marginal deposits by making the most of existing resources and infrastructure. Vietsovpetro will expand its scope of activity to the energy industry by producing renewable energy, in line with the current trend of energy transition and sustainable development, in Vietnam and around the world. At the same time, we will develop essential techniques to exploit oil and develop the maritime economy,” he said.
