At 22 years old, Lucas Chevalier is not immune to criticism. The last rampart of LOSC has therefore chosen to cut itself off from certain communication channels to maintain a balance.

Propelled to the forefront at the expense of Léo Jardim at the start of the 2022-2023 season, Lucas Chevalier (22 years old) continues his rise throughout the matches. At the end of his first full season in the LOSC cages, he is already considered one of the best goalkeepers in Ligue 1. While talking about his future projections, the Lille goalkeeper insisted on the fact of wanting to climb step by step, but that will inevitably generate criticism: “I know I would win trophies, I don’t know when (laughing). I know that there are seasons in which I will be less good, also because people are more demanding of you. They will ask you for a performance standard and as soon as you do a little less well, they will attack you. I also try to protect myself from that even if sometimes it’s hard with journalists, who are sometimes not very nice. In any case, in my head, I always try to be on top, that’s the hardest part”he confides.

Like the others, Lucas Chevalier does not escape criticism, whether positive or negative. He therefore put things in place to make himself “waterproof” and avoid hassle: “I try not to see what’s happening in the media. I deleted Twitter, for example, because I think it’s the cruelest network. You can’t always escape it, but you have to be able to sort through certain things. L’Equipe notes, nothing to worry about (laughing). That gives you a gauge, but honestly, I don’t need to have a good rating on L’Equipe to know how my match was. You know when you did well or badly. I invite people to do like me to be safe, to concentrate on their performancescontinues the Lille goalkeeper, believing that certain footballers are not necessarily on the same wavelength. I think some people like it and play to be known, loved (laughs). The president often says it, when you are a footballer you are popular, you just need to have a slightly different lifestyle to be loved. But I mean, we play football and that’s not why. We don’t care what’s around, we’re on the pitch to win titles.”he concludes for Today it’s football.
