Celine Dion could well make her big return to Paris for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, although nothing has been confirmed yet.

Amélie Oudéa-Castera, Minister of Sports, mentioned this possibility during her appearance on BFMTV on June 26. “It is part of the hypotheses, it is within the realm of possibility and, personally, I hope so,” she declared, while adding cautiously: “Now, as I have always said, this type of decision is taken by Tony Estanguet and by Thomas Joly, the artistic director of the ceremonies.”

Whether it is a performance or a simple presence of the Quebec star at the ceremony, the minister affirmed that her answer remains the “same”. This decision is all the more uncertain since the singer has not returned to the stage since 2022, after being diagnosed with stiff person syndrome, a condition with variable and incurable symptoms that can affect her performances.

Another name in the running for the closing ceremony, according to BFMTV, is that of Marion Cotillard. The actress could perform the hit “My Way” if her schedule allows it, as she has just signed for season 4 of “The Morning Show”.

According to RMC Sports, Tom Cruise is also expected to make an appearance at the ceremony, thus ensuring a link with the next Olympic Games, which will be held in Los Angeles in 2028. Finally, Aya Nakamura’s participation in the opening ceremony seems almost certain, although the singer remains discreet on the subject.
