ChatGPTChatGPT is not the only chatbot out there. One of its main rivals is called Claude, developed by Anthropic. This is offered in three variants: Haiku, the fastest and cheapest, Opus, the most intelligent and Sonnet which is between the two. Anthropic has just presented Claude 3.5 in its Sonnet version.

According to a table published by the developer, the new Claude would exceed ChatGPT-4o in the majority of standardized tests (GPQA, HumanEval, MMLU, MGSM, DROP, Big-Bench-Hard and GSM8K). It would be twice as fast and much smarter than Claude 3 Opus.

One of the areas where this artificial intelligence has made significant progress is in terms of visual interpretation. Claude 3.5 Sonnet can understand graphics and transcribe the data they contain, and can generate images in SVG format. Claude also benefits from a brand new feature called Artifacts. This is a workspace next to the windowwindow discussion that shows the visual creations of the chatbot, which can be edited and combined. In a demonstration video, Claude generates a crab then shells in a stylestyle 8-bits, then turns them into a platform game. This feature should soon offer a collaborative mode, which will therefore allow several people to work together.

Anthropic is offering a free trial of Claude 3.5 Sonnet on its site, with a limited number of posts. For full access, it will cost $20 per month, the same price as ChatGPT Plus. The firm also indicated that it plans to launch the Opus and Haiku versions of Claude 3.5 later this year.
