The services of the community of communes of Pithiverais Gâtinais have had to adapt to best maintain after-school services and early childhood care, after the fire at the Fleur de Coton center in Malesherbes, Tuesday November 12.
A fire ravaged part of the space dedicated to the reception of Fleur de Coton children in Malesherbes, Tuesday November 12. The fire broke out around 2 p.m., while the children used to after-school care were still at school. The youngest, under three years old, were however welcomed.
23 toddlers and 19 adults were evacuated by shuttle to the Château-Vignon premises, located 700 meters away. No injuries have been reported.

Adapting after the disaster
Two days after the disaster, it is still too early to regain possession of the areas spared by the flames. “There is still smoke,” says Carole Begaud, from the community of communes of Pithiverais Gâtinais (CCPG). So the CCPG, in charge of after-school care, must adapt.
Until Friday November 15, children aged 3 to 11 will stay in their school after classes. Then, from Monday, November 18, after-school care will be centralized at the Jacques-Prévert nursery school for nursery school children and at the Château-Vignon school for elementary school students. This organization is also valid on Wednesdays.

Resumption of early childhood reception Monday November 18
For toddlers, care was suspended and parents were invited to temporarily find another childcare solution. The homes in the most fragile situation, or whose parents' professional situation did not allow them to adapt, were redirected to childminders and the Arc-en-Ciel home for all.
From Monday, early childhood care will be provided in municipal premises in the town of Malesherbois.
