BANDUNG – West Java Regional Police (Polda) submitted the case file of the murder of Vina and Muhammad Rizky or Eky in Cirebon with suspect Pegi Setiawan to the West Java High Prosecutor’s Office today or Thursday, June 20 2024
Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police, Kombes Jules Abraham Abast, said that currently, investigators from the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) have completed the main case of the suspect in the name of Pegi Setiawan alias Perong in transfer to Kejati Jabar.
“There has been coordination with the prosecutor’s office and hopefully there are no obstacles, please pray smoothly so that the case can be submitted today,” said Jules, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday June 20.
Jules said that the first stage file submitted by the investigator would be studied by the Attorney General (JPU) and its completion would be reviewed by the West Java Prosecutor’s Office.
“Yes, so for the current first step, we submit the file, there are already investigators who submit them to the prosecutor’s office,” he said.
As for this, if the documents received by the prosecutor are still incomplete, the P18 code will be received and the file will be returned to the police investigators for completion.
Meanwhile, if the case review is complete, the prosecutor will provide case code P21.
Previously, West Java Police said they had questioned as many as 68 witnesses related to the murder of Vina and Muhammad Rizky or Eky in Cirebon, after almost eight years since the case had been fully revealed.
He said dozens of witnesses were interviewed ranging from his interrogation to forensic psychological testing.
“So far, investigators from the West Java Police Dit Reskrimum have questioned about 68 witnesses and requested help from some experts,” he said.
Furthermore, Jules ensured that his party’s investigation and investigation into the murder of Vina and Eky was transparent, careful, and nothing was covered up.
“Because this is still a process, so please be patient, we will try to find out this event publicly,” he said.
