This iconic box drops 20% on its price and becomes more affordable than ever – Lemon

The Freebox Revolution Light becomes even more accessible. Its price drops to only 23.99 euros per month, a reduction of 6 euros. An excellent opportunity to look at this attractive offer and compare it to the competition using our internet box comparator.

An iconic box for less than 24 euros per month

Launched in 2010 as a high-end offer, the Freebox Revolution has been repositioned over time and is now available in a more affordable “Light” version. Currently offered on the operator's website at 23.99 euros per month, this box continues to appeal with its attractive price and certain distinctive features, including an integrated Blu-ray player. An asset that sets it apart from the competition since it is the only internet box on the market to offer this type of equipment.

This Freebox Revolution Light offer retains the same characteristics as that which was offered at 29.99 euros per month. We find an internet speed of up to 1 Gbit/s for downloading and 600 Mb/s for sending. It offers 230 channels via the OQEE application, the Revolution player with its many features and Famille by Canal included. This offer is without obligation and is offered at 23.99 euros per month for one year, then 29.99 euros per month.

The Freebox Revolution Light in Brief:

  • 1 Gb/s download
  • 600 Mb/s sending
  • Wi-Fi 5
  • 230 TV channels included + OQEE TV app
  • Unlimited calls to landlines in France and more than 110 destinations
  • Integrated Blu-ray player on TV player

This box priced at 23.99 euros per month is undoubtedly a good offer, it allows you to reach the speed of 1 Gb/s and offers a triple play offer with 230 TV channels included as well as unlimited telephone to landlines of more than 110 destinations.

The Freebox Revolution Light is unfortunately equipped with Wi-Fi 5, a standard which is starting to date and which is technically outdated by the new Wi-Fi 7 standards (dual-band or tri-band) available on the Freebox Pop and Delta. The latter offer better performance, particularly in terms of the number of simultaneously connectable devices and throughput for wireless objects. To take full advantage of the internet speed offered by the Freebox Revolution Light, it is therefore advisable to use an Ethernet connection rather than Wi-Fi.

In addition to its basic features, the Freebox Revolution Light offers an integrated 250 GB hard drive. This storage space allows you to record TV programs but also to store some personal files.

The offer can be supplemented by paid, no-obligation access to the streaming platforms Amazon Prime, CANAL+, Netflix and Max, from 5.99 euros per month.

What does the competition offer for less than 25 euros per month?

Bouygues Telecom recently launched the B&You Pure Fiber, an ultra-high-performance internet box focused solely on connectivity. Exit the traditional triple play offer (internet, TV, telephone), this box focuses on the essentials by offering an exceptional downstream speed of up to 8 Gb/s and an upstream speed of up to 1 Gb/s, the everything for only 23.99 euros per month.

An ideal solution for users who prefer a powerful internet connection and who do not need television or landline telephone services, subject to technical eligibility, of course.

RED by SFR offers an attractive internet + landline telephony offer at 24.99 euros per month, with a guaranteed price without increase in the second year. It includes optical fiber (symmetrical speed up to 500 Mb/s) and unlimited calls to landlines in more than 100 destinations and mobiles in France.

However, the price can rise quickly if additional options are desired. Wi-Fi 6, with SFR Box 8 and its higher speeds, costs 7 euros per month. The TV decoder, which includes 35 channels via the RED TV application, costs 3 euros per month, with the possibility of extending the bouquet to 100 channels for 2 euros more. Thus, a complete offer with TV and very high speed internet costs 36.99 euros per month.

Despite this higher price with the options, RED by SFR offers a refund over the first two months of subscription, which reduces the cost of this box.

Before subscribing to a new internet offer, it is crucial to check its eligibility and compare the speeds offered by the different internet service providers (ISPs) depending on your place of residence. To help you in this process, consult the internet connections map updated by Arcep.
