27 interventions by firefighters last night, linked to flooding

Tuesday June 18, 2024, shortly before midnight, significant stormy precipitation fell over part of northern Sarthe. An episode which resulted in 27 interventions by firefighters for events linked to flooding. Sainte-Jamme-sur-Sarthe, La Ferté-Bernard and Beaufay are among the ten or so municipalities affected.

Significant stormy precipitation was recorded on Tuesday June 18, 2024, around 11 p.m., in the north of Sarthe.

This Wednesday morning, firefighters reported having intervened 27 times for events linked to flooding. Around ten municipalities were affected. Among them, Sainte-Jamme-sur-Sarthe, Ballon-Saint-Mars, Bonnétable, La Ferté-Bernard and Beaufay.

Other departments affected by stormy rains

Note that other departments were severely impacted by this stormy episode. In Mayenne, firefighters intervened more than 200 times.

This Wednesday, for a good part of the day, Sarthe is placed on yellow alert for rain, floods and storms.
