the CAC 40 loses the ground gained yesterday

THE TREND

(Boursier.com) — Well below 7,400 points, the CAC 40 started the session in the red this morning (-1.05% to 7,350 points in the first half hour of trading) losing the ground gained yesterday (+1 .20%).

The markets are awaiting the first indicators this Tuesday which should make it possible to confirm the trajectory of the European economies with final inflation in Germany or even data on unemployment in the United Kingdom. CPI inflation in the United States, which will be published on Wednesday, as well as producer prices will also be scrutinized tomorrow.

In terms of currencies, the dollar reached a four-month high against the Euro at $1.0625, supported by investors who continue to bet on American stocks after Donald Trump’s victory.

WALL STREET

The US rating remained oriented in the green on Monday, at the top while awaiting a battery of statistics and in particular certain inflation figures this week in the United States… It is especially Tesla which stands out once again on the rise , continuing its rally from last week (+8.9%!). The main Wall Street indices are therefore still breaking records, still in the wake of the election of Donald Trump last week: The S&P 500 even exceeds 6,000 pts, at 6,001 points, up 0.1%, while the Dow Jones gained 0.69% to 44,293 pts. The Nasdaq rose 0.06% to 19,298 pts.

Much & Cie (+2.25% to 11.30 Euros): over the first 9 months of the year, the consolidated turnover of the operating subsidiaries stood at 879.7 million euros, compared to 804.9 million euros over the same period in 2023, up 9.3% at current exchange rates. At constant exchange rates, turnover increased by 11.1% to 894 million euros. Viel & Cie continues to grow its activity in the 3rd quarter of 2024 with a turnover of 282.4 million euros, up 12.4% at current exchange rates. At constant exchange rates, quarterly turnover shows an increase of 14.1%.
