Blue skies and sunshine will be present most of the time during the weekend. But the first signs of deterioration will be felt in the north of the country from Sunday, according to Météo France forecasts.
At the same time, temperatures will drop another notch on Saturday in the North. They will then move away from the seasonal averages while they will remain average in the South. But, on Sunday, they will go up several notches north of the Loire.
Saturday: sunshine everywhere
The day will be marked by a massive presence of the sun. A few clouds will hold up in the northernmost parts of Hauts-de-France in the morning. Elsewhere in the northern half, the whole day will be marked by an occasional risk of fog and low clouds. But the sun should, overall, take over. In the southern half, clouds will be almost absent from sunrise to sunset.
Maximum temperatures will drop one or two notches compared to Friday. In the northern half, this is the day of the week when they should be furthest from normal with a deficit of between 3°C and 5°C. It should therefore be, at the hottest time of the day, between 6°C and 10°C with temperatures increasing from the east to the west of France. In the southern half, the values will be seasonal, between a little over ten and a little over fifteen degrees, or even a little more in the South-West.
During the night from Saturday to Sunday, the sky should remain clear. Only the Belgian border in Hauts-de-France would be exposed to a risk of showers. For people traveling, the danger could come from frost and therefore black ice on roads outside towns.
Sunday: gradual return of rain to the North
From the morning, the overnight rains will gain ground from Normandy to the Grand Est. In the afternoon they will shift towards the East. In the northern half, the sky will remain overcast most of the time. It will get bluer and bluer as it descends into the south of France.
Temperatures will rise by two or three degrees in the North compared to the day before. In the South, they will remain of the same order, between 12°C and 17°C.
From Monday: rains become widespread
On Monday, rains should reach the entire territory, with the exception of the South-East and the Mediterranean arc. Temperatures will rise several more degrees in the North. Between 10°C and 13°C, they will be seasonal, or even a little higher, except in Alsace where they will remain below 10°C. In the South, they will continue to remain between around ten degrees and a little over 15°C, even more so in the Alpes-Maritimes and Corsica.
On Tuesday, the rains would continue and reach the parts of the territory spared the day before. The Mediterranean would hold out until the end of the day.
