For its big debut at the Euro, the France team should be able to rely on its best assets.

It’s the big day for the France team. Three years after their painful failure in the round of 16 against Switzerland, the Blues are entering the Euro. For their first match, Didier Deschamps’ troops face Austria and intend to get off to the best possible start. To achieve this, the world vice-champions should play in the same system as at the World Cup.

At the forefront, if Ousmane Dembélé should once again occupy the right flank of the attack, Kylian Mbappé will be aligned in the axis, leaving the left lane to Marcus Thuram. In the midfield, while N’Golo Kanté will act as sentry, Antoine Griezmann should play on the right side rather than in the center as during the two preparation matches while Adrien Rabiot will find his left flank.

In defense, if Théo Hernandez and Jules Koundé should be returned to the corridors, William Saliba, on the strength of his very good season with the Gunners and his performances during the two preparation matches, should be invited in the central hinge alongside Dayot Upamecano, Ibrahima Konaté being left to start on the bench.

The probable composition of France: Maignan – Koundé, Saliba, Upamecano, T. Hernandez – Kanté, Rabiot, Griezmann – Dembélé, Mbappé (cap), Thuram.

On the Austrian side, Ralf Rangnick will be able to count on his strong men, first and foremost Sabitzer, Danso, Laimer and Baumgartner.

The probable line-up of Austria: Pentz – Posch, Danso, Wöber, Mwene – Grillitsch, Seiwald – Laimer (cap.), Baumgartner, Sabitzer – Gregoritsch.
