Saint-Eloi. A Day of Mobilization for Biodiversity. Recently, the Maison de l’Environnement between Loire and Allier organized a participatory project bringing together the association’s volunteers for a day of cleaning and discovery around the Ark of Biodiversity pond. This initiative made it possible to freshen up this precious natural space, while making participants aware of the richness of the local fauna and flora.
The morning was spent cleaning the pond ditch. Armed with gloves and tools, volunteers worked hard to clear the area of trash and invasive plants. After a good friendly lunch, the team tackled the brambles which had taken up residence in the surrounding ditches.
In the afternoon, as part of the Fête des Mares, the young people present had the opportunity to discover the many inhabitants of this exceptional aquatic environment. Supervised by members of the association, they were able to closely observe a slowworm, a green frog and diving beetles.
This immersion in the heart of biodiversity was an enriching and fascinating experience for everyone. This day was a resounding success, both in terms of the efficiency of the work carried out and the enthusiasm of the participants. Once again, the Mela* thanks the Poule Rousse foundation for its unwavering support for the Jeunes Pousses nature club, making it possible to regularly organize educational outings for young people and to promote the preservation of the natural area.
