For these legislative elections, the Republicans party had difficulty finding candidates in the Loiret. So much so that it will ultimately not be present or represented only in 5 constituencies – without any agreement with anyone having been made, and by positioning itself on a very clear line of refusal of any alliance with the RN, contrary to what Eric Ciotti, the contested president of the LR, advocates.

The return of Jean-Luc Poisson

4 candidates were already known: Cyril Colas (business manager in Meung-sur-Loire, not included) in the 2nd constituency; Constance de Pélichy (mayor of La Ferté Saint-Aubin, not inserted) in the 3rd circo; Ariel Levy (LR departmental advisor of Montargis) in the 4th circo; Benjamin Quélin (mayor of Saint-Michel) in the 5th circo. A new name was revealed this Sunday: Jean-Luc Poissonformerly elected in Orléans (from 2021 to 2020) as municipal councilor then deputy (district, then traffic), member of the LR, in the 6th circo.

No agreement with the presidential majority…

No candidate is officially supported by the LR in the 1st constituency, that of outgoing Renaissance MP Stéphanie Rist. As the presidential majority does not present a candidate in the 3rd against Constance de Pélichy, we could see it as an exchange of good practices: this is not the case, assures Ariel Lévy. “There is no agreement, either verbal or written.he says. The proof is that Renaissance is presenting a candidate against me, even though I saw that Richard Ramos (MoDem) supported me.“Note, however, that there will be, despite everything, a candidate claiming to be from the right in this 1st circo: the Orléanais Guillaume Chassang, but who therefore does not have the LR nomination.

…nor with the RN

No ambiguity either with regard to the National Rally : “We all disagree in substance and form with what Eric Ciotti did.underlines Ariel Lévy. But we also fight with the same determination the extreme left, and therefore the New Popular Front. If the RN wins, there is chaos; if the left wins, it’s bankruptcy. We want neither“, he concludes.
