As part of the national agricultural days, the “national association for employment and training in agriculture”, Anefa, organized its event “Place à l’agri”, in Tarbes. The Place du Forail welcomed producers and visitors this Thursday, June 6.
This Thursday, June 6 in the morning, the traditional local market will be held at Place du Foirail in Tarbes. But this time, “Place à l’agri” fills the empty space on the site. This event is organized for the second time by Anefa, during the period of national agricultural days, from June 6 to 9.
“This year, we have more participants than last year,” rejoices Christelle Salvi, organizer of the event. The theme, for this edition, revolves around gastronomy and the awakening of visitors’ taste buds. For this This is why we invited cheesemakers, producers of mushrooms, jams, sorbets….”, she adds.
All the actors from the agricultural world present are all local producers, like Patrice Raymond: “This is my second participation. This type of initiative allows me to present my products.” Patrice is a producer of goat’s milk ice cream. “A lot of people don’t know and think that my ice cream tastes like goat’s cheese, when it doesn’t,” concludes the goat breeder from the Rustanaise farm in Saint Sever de Rustan.
The objective of “Place à l’agri” is to introduce the general public to certain aspects of the agricultural world, which are little-known. Jobs specific to this branch were presented as well as some innovations.
At the end of the school year, the opportunity is ideal to organize an outing outside of school. “My students are very happy,” says a delighted Justine Dijoux, teacher of a CP class at the Jules-Verne school in Tarbes. “This is not necessarily the type of activity they do with their parents. The children loved the stand with the ponies and the different games organized for them,” she concludes.
Around twenty stands occupied the place du foirail, until 2:30 p.m. “Place à l’agri” will be held in around ten other French cities until Sunday.
