Joey Veerman, 25, is one of the players rumored to be Kroos’ replacement at Real Madrid. The PSV player denied this.

Joey Veerman (Pirmerend, Netherlands, 1998) has been linked to the Madrid club since Toni Kroos announced his retirement. The only reason for this is that their characteristics as players may be somewhat similar. However, he himself denied this possibility: “None of these rumors are true.”

In an interview with De Telegraaf, the PSV midfielder explained: “I could be happy to be linked to Real Madrid, but it makes me uncomfortable because it’s a lie. I’m at both tired and uncomfortable, especially because I constantly have to answer this question when there is absolutely nothing,” he explains.

“I’m facing this because someone on TV says I’d be fine there and a Spanish newspaper writes something…” Still imagining himself in Madrid, the Dutchman adds: “Maybe that I would adapt there, but hey, it’s Real Madrid When you see the players they have as starters…”.

He also spoke about where he would like to go if he considered leaving PSV, where he has a contract until 2026: “If I leave, it will be for a club that likes to have the ball. I am not not the type of player to stay back and chase the ball all game.”
