After many years, Square Enix is finally resurrecting the iconic Mana license with Visions of Mana, a brand new opus for which we now know the release date.
The release date of Visions of Mana on PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series has been made official by Square Enix as part of a trailer and a press release detailing everything you need to know about the return of this legendary license initiated in 1991. And after so many years, the wait is now not very long.
Finally a release date for Visions of Mana
After many Remasters and Remakes, Visions of Mana finally marks the return of the license with a brand new adventure, notably in the company of Val, the character we will play there, and Hinna. She will receive the blessing of the fairies, and our two friends will then begin an epic journey towards the Tree of Mana. Along the way, they will meet other endearing comrades, like Careena and Morley. This is the synopsis that awaits fans on PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series on August 29.
This adventure will take the form of an action-RPG with rather nervous gameplay, in large areas to explore on the backs of Pikuls, the mascots of Visions of Mana, imagined specifically for the game by the legendary Nao Ikeda, official character designer of franchise. With its “small open world”, we cannot help but draw a parallel with the direction taken by FF7 Rebirth, and this is clearly not to displease us. In addition to fans, this new opus is in any case intended to be accessible to a whole new audience.
Square Enix thus tried to please both audiences, by making something new with something old, as they say. Our preview of the game left us with rather good preliminary impressions. See you in three short months to see if these are confirmed with the release of the game. We are particularly waiting for it at the turning point for a story that we hope is touching and transcendent, like its illustrious elders in the Mana franchise.
