On Monday, Pierre Houde will receive the Foster Hewitt Award from the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.
The award is presented annually to a member of the television and radio industry who “makes an outstanding contribution to their profession and to hockey in general.”
This is a superb honor – just as deserved – for one of the great sports personalities in Quebec.
The ceremony will take place during the Canadian’s game, who will be in Buffalo to face the Sabres.
That said, we heard it yesterday on television during the match between CH and the Devils, but it is Alain Crête and Bruno Gervais who will provide the description (and analysis) for the match.
Marc Denis, who is Pierre Houde’s faithful sidekick as an analyst, will also be at the ceremony to support his colleague:
We never (or almost) see Pierre Houde absent, but here, he has a good reason for doing so.
A very good reason, even.
Again, it’s really unique and to see that Marc Denis will be there alongside him, it shows how well the two men get along.
It’s been a long time, after all, that they have been a team for the description of the Canadian’s matches.
That said, fans will be in good hands with Alain Crête and Bruno Gervais, two guys who have a lot of experience in the media.
It’s going to make the moment of a match different… And that’s so much the better, because it will allow Pierre Houde to receive the flowers he deserves.
In burst
– Good news!
– The guys are getting ready.
– Meh…
– They are so complete.
