First of all, players will have the opportunity to play with their favorite PWHL players starting December 5 in NHL 25. (Mike Inglehart) : The PWHL has already done a great job growing the number of hockey fans and showcasing so many talented female hockey players in just one year since their first game. It’s great for the sport. Besides being huge fans, we think representation is important. So we’re excited to do everything we can to shine a light on the extraordinary players in this league.
(Geeks and Com’): Could leagues like the PWHL be integrated into franchise mode in the future?
(Mike Inglehart) : We are not yet ready to announce the arrival of the PWHL in other game modes, but I can tell you that we are determined to continue to highlight women’s hockey and its growth.
(Geeks and Com’) : Were the faces of the PWHL players modeled in the game?
(Mike Inglehart) : We weren’t able to scan the faces of all the players on the women’s hockey teams. We’ve been able to capture modeling from some of sports’ top athletes including Marie-Philip Poulin, Natalie Spooner, Sarah Nurse, Kendall Coyne Schofield, Amanda Kessel, Hilary Knight and many more.
The return of an arcade mode in NHL 25
Among the other new features coming to NHL 25, we also find the NHL Arcade event series. Everything has been available since November 15 in World of Chel mode. Fans of the original game will definitely recognize the fast-paced action and big heads. They’ll also remember the bonuses from the original game, all of which have been modernized for NHL 25. It was important for us to not just modernize the original experience. That’s why we’ve added new powerups ranging from angry pets that attack the opposing team to UFO laser beams that split the ice.
Confrontation of the 4 Nations
From the start of next year, NHL 25 will include the 4 Nations Showdown. Just like the real thing, the round robin features players from Canada, Finland, Sweden and the United States. Content will be available in Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT), Play Now, Online Versus, Shootout and Tournament modes.
