JAKARTA – The government said it had paid a budget to control inflation of Rp52.56 trillion until May 2024.

In addition, it comes from the regional budget whose realization reaches 13.56 trillion rupiah out of the budget ceiling of 92.87 trillion rupiah.

Airlangga said, thanks to control efforts, Indonesia’s inflation status is currently relatively better, which is reflected in Indonesia’s inflation in May, recorded 2.84% (year-on-year). ).

This is better than the G20 countries.

“Inflation in May was recorded at 2.84% per year and compared to other G20 countries such as Russia, for example, 7.84%, India 4.75%, Australia 3.6%, the United States 3.3%. So, in Indonesia, it is relatively better than these countries,” said Airlangga at the National Coordination Meeting on Inflation Control 2024 at the Presidential Palace, Friday, June 14.

According to Airlangga, with its control, inflation also supported the performance of economic growth which in the first quarter of 2024 amounted to 5.11 percent.

He added that continuity of national supply is a major key to maintaining food stability throughout the region.

Airlangga explained, efforts to reduce inflation include maintaining price affordability, availability of supply and smooth distribution, effective communication, especially to encourage monetary policy mix and the real sector so that inflation is maintained.

By stabilizing food prices, Airlangga said that when food prices in conditions increase, in the short term, there is a distribution of food aid for the stabilization of food supplies and prices (SPHP) to the cheap food movement.

According to him, the move succeeded in reducing skyrocketing food prices, as well as increasing production by increasing the allocation of subsidized fertilizers and access to financing for the agricultural sector.

Airlangga noted that the distribution of People’s Enterprise Credit (KUR) for the agricultural sector reached 30 percent. In addition, other measures are to ensure smooth distribution, especially for 10 strategic food products by the National Food Agency (Bapanas) and optimization of marine tolls for remote and remote areas.
