A heartbreaking accident occurred late Thursday morning, when an elder accidentally drove over his wife’s body, twice rather than once, in the underground parking lot of the University Hospital Center de Montréal (CHUM), downtown.
The tragedy occurred around 11:15 a.m. in the hospital’s huge underground parking lot.
According to our information, the octogenarian couple had just left the hospital grounds after a medical appointment.

The 83-year-old sat in the driver’s seat of the car and reportedly did not realize his wife had tripped until he was able to get in.
He then reversed and rolled over his partner for the first time.
Panicked at the idea of having driven over something, the man then wanted to return to his parking space, rolling over his wife’s body a second time.

As the accident occurred within the CHUM itself, the 80-year-old victim was able to be treated quickly.
Thursday afternoon, she was still between life and death.
Specialist collision investigators from the Montreal police went to the scene to analyze the accident scene and to obtain the driver’s version of the facts.
