While all eyes are now on Ukraine since Donald Trump’s victory, a call between the new American president and Volodymyr Zelensky is the subject of debate.
The American media Axios revealed on November 8 that, during the interview given to Volodymyr Zelensky by Donald Trump, newly elected 47th president of the United States, billionaire Elon Musk was present.
Elon Musk omnipresent alongside Trump
A revelation which once again shows the growing influence of the boss of X and SpaceX, the aerospace company which notably supplied Starlink satellites to the Ukrainian theater of war to compensate for the lack of network. Elon Musk, who has become one of Donald Trump’s biggest supporters (political and financial), could become an important man in the next administration, which will take office in January 2025.
However, we will know nothing about this interview. Donald Trump has spoken several times about the war in Ukraine and the billions sent by Washington to the country to defend against the Russian invasion. He even explained that when he became president, it would only take a few days to end the conflict.
The Biden administration, still in power until January 20, wants to increase military aid before the transfer of power in order to protect itself from a change in policy on the part of Donald Trump. The new American president has in fact never hidden his very good relations with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, so that important concessions from Ukraine could be on the table.
According to Axios, the telephone interview with Volodymyr Zelensky, however, went well. American media sources explain that Donald Trump was less vehement than in his campaign speeches and also explained during his victory that he would continue to support Ukraine, without going into details.
