Two suspects were arrested after reports of a stabbing in the center of Brussels. The victim died during the night.
The Brussels public prosecutor’s office announces that a stabbing attack occurred on Boulevard Emile Jacqmain during the night from Wednesday to Thursday at 2:30 a.m. The victim is of Singaporean origin. He was studying in Belgium and was 25 years old.
The police provided first aid to the victim until the arrival of emergency services and SMUR. The victim was transported to hospital, where he died from his injuries. “According to the first elements of the investigation, it seems that the victim was approached by two suspects, and that a discussion led to a stabbing,” specifies the prosecution. He also specifies that two suspects were arrested in connection with this case. “They are two men, aged 18. This morning, searches were carried out at their homes, during which they were deprived of their liberty.”
“The officers quickly went to the scene and found a man injured by a stab wound to the abdomen,” specifies the prosecution. The investigation is still ongoing. “The exact circumstances of the facts must still be clarified,” the press release ends.
