Indeed, this Wednesday, June 12, Emmanuel Macron cleared up the ambiguities at a press conference, committing to pensions remain “ well indexed to inflation » at 1er January 2025.
“ I will be very clear: pensions will be well indexed to inflation, the purchasing power of retirees, this is not an adjustment variable. », assured the Head of State on the issue.
Defending his record, Emmanuel Macron accused the far-left and far-right blocs of putting the pension system in danger by proposing to reverse the 2023 pension reform.
This would amount to “ remove what has been done for the most modest retirees but above all to put the retirement system into bankruptcy “, he denounced.
Did you know ? The calculation of the revaluation is defined in article L.161-25 of the Social Security Code: the amount of the retirement pension changes each year on the 1ster January based on the increase in the average value of the consumer price index, excluding tobacco.
For 2025, the rate will be obtained by taking the ratio between the average value of inflation over the current period from 1er November 2022 to October 31, 2023 and that between 1er November 2023 and October 31, 2024.
