Despite the very poor attendance at the Stade de France on Thursday evening for France-Israel, the audiences were rather good since nearly 5 million viewers were present in front of their television. This is more than during the Blues matches in October.
Only 16,000 spectators at the Stade de France for the reception of Israel, this is an abnormally low attendance, a sign of the public's disinterest in this sporting encounter which is not very exciting and marked by a tense context. But there were, on the other hand, a lot of people watching television: the match brought together 4.95 million viewers on average on TF1, or 24.6% audience share.
Perhaps attracted by the extra-sporting context, there were more viewers than during the two Blues matches in October, against Belgium (4.74 million viewers, 22.7% audience share) and against Israel, already, in Budapest (3.98 million viewers, 21.3% audience share).
France-Israel above recent average
We finally have to go back to the matches in September, against Italy and Belgium, to find traces of better audiences: these two matches, with Kylian Mbappé and Antoine Griezmann selected, had gathered between 5.06 and 5.13 million of viewers.
France-Israel this Thursday, November 14 is therefore finally above the average of the Blues' Nations League matches this season, which amounts to 4.8 million viewers and 24.2% share of audience. Figures which contrast with the crowds at the Stade de France and the public's growing disinterest in the French team.
