On Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November 2024, the town of Ivry-sur-Seine is hosting an exhibition that is as unusual as it is fun, around the Petite Ceinture Parisienne.
Old railway track encircling Paris, what we now call the Little Parisian Belt has been active from 1852 to 1993offering more than 30 kilometers of railway tracks to serve the whole of Paris. From now on, only sections of the capital's railway past remain, visible and open to walking in certain districts. In the 15th for example, the 17th, the 19th with the establishment of third places on the portion or even, in the 18th, with the presence of the now famous Hasard Ludique, giving access to the tracks.
So, since the closure of the railway line and the opening of certain sections to the general public, theAssociation for the preservation of the Petite Ceinture regularly organizes free guided toursdiscovering the old stations and the remains of the latter. THE Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 Novemberthe association invites the general public to discover the UAICF railway model exhibition, presented at Ivry-sur-Seineweekend time. And for good reason: the Petite Ceinture Parisienne will be in the spotlight, since it is the theme of this edition! This is an opportunity to discover magnificent modules (in 3D or physics) and numerous objects or old documents from the association's collections.
Conferences (half an hour) will also be offered throughout this weekend. So, see you on the weekend of November 16 and 17, 2024 at the Ivry Champs Dauphin Sports Center, for this exhibition around the Parisian Petite Ceinture! Count €2 entry per personknowing that the ticket is free for SNCF agents.
Finally, if you don't yet know the Parisian Petite Ceinture, we can only advise you to discover it: in one go if you are ready to walk a lot or in several sections. A bucolic stroll and a change of scenery without even leaving Paris guaranteed!
