This Monday, November 4, 2024, a young man on a scooter aged around twenty lost his life after a brutal collision with a car on the road from Lyon to Péron, in Ain.
The emergency services, which had intervened, unfortunately had not unable to save the victim.
The motorist fled on foot
Immediately after the accident, the driver of the car fled on foot, leaving his vehicle there. The gendarmes set out to look for him in the evening but were unable to find him, despite his identification.
Tuesday, November 5, in the morning, the fugitive finally surrendered himself to the Thoiry gendarmerie, we learned from the police, confirming information from the Progress.
According to testimonies collected by our colleagues, the motorist allegedly first caused material damage on the road before hitting the scooter. The exact circumstances of the accident will remain to be determined during the investigation.
