In the middle of the legislative campaign, Bruno Le Maire assures this Tuesday on RMC-BFMTV that the price of electricity will fall by 10 to 15% in February 2025.

“We believe in nuclear power, unlike Marine Le Pen who constantly changes her mind.” Bruno Le Maire, the Minister of Economy and Finance, targets the RN this Tuesday on RMC-BFMTV, before the legislative elections (June 30, July 7). And ensures that thanks to nuclear power plants, “the electricity bill will drop by 10 to 15%” in February 2025, says Bruno Le Maire. “This is the commitment I am making this morning”, underlines Bruno Le Maire in front of Apolline de Malherbe.

. “Because we have relaunched nuclear power. (…) Because we have invested in renewables. Because we believe in the independence of France and its energy independence, unlike the National Rally which puts us tied hand and foot in the hands of the Gulf countries and Russia,” he added.

“The National Rally said very clearly through the voice of Marine Le Pen (…) that it did not believe in renewable energies. So they will (…) leave the French in the hands of gas and electricity producers. oil with the risk (…) that the price of gas tomorrow and the price of oil will explode, either because their friend Vladimir Putin attacked Ukraine, or because there will be a strong demand for oil”, -he continued.

Increase in electricity and gas in 2024

On February 1, while prices on the wholesale market were falling, the electricity bill had increased by just under 10% on average due to the return of a government tax affecting all subscribers with the exit progressive tariff shield, very costly for public finances.

On July 1, the gas bill will increase, on average by 11.7% compared to June, as a result of a rebound in prices and especially a revaluation of the price of distribution networks, necessary according to Bruno The Mayor to finance the maintenance of the gas networks.

The minister, who has been in office for seven years at Bercy, also hoped “that there will be new measures for purchasing power to be announced by the President of the Republic and by our majority in the coming days”. He also called for “very strong measures” against juvenile delinquency.
