It is often said that dogs are man’s best friend, and it is certainly not Brandon Garrett who would say the opposite. As reported by BFM TV, this American motorist probably owes his life to his dog.

The dog returns to alert the campsite

While driving on a road in Oregon (United States) on Saturday, he poorly negotiated a turn and his vehicle rolled into a ravine. The pick-up is on its side, impossible for the injured driver to escape from the passenger compartment.

He will then spend the night in the car in the hope that someone will spot him. In his vehicle, he is accompanied by his four dogs. One of them will leave the scene, not to escape, but to travel… six kilometers.

The animal heads straight towards the campsite where the rest of Brandon Garrett’s family is located. The latter immediately understands that there is a problem when she sees the dog arriving alone. She began research and finally discovered the vehicle on Monday, around 9:30 a.m.

Helicoptered to hospital

However, it was impossible to reach the bottom of the ravine to help Brandon who finally managed to get out of his pick-up, but who was unable to get back up. The emergency services will have to use the chainsaw to get to him.

The injured man was airlifted to a local hospital. At this time, the nature of his injuries is unknown. The authorities reassured animal lovers that the four dogs were found in good health.
