The septuagenarian, who was driving alone on the RD 993, known as the Millau route, lost control of her vehicle, according to our colleagues from Midi Libre. The accident occurred near the Monts et Lacs private school complex and the Salles-Curan gendarmerie.
Helicoptered in absolute emergency
After leaving the road violently, his vehicle hit the shoulder, without any other vehicle being involved in the incident. Firefighters from the Salles-Curan and Pont-de-Salars centers intervened in large numbers, around a dozen rescuers, to extricate the victim.
Once out of the vehicle, the driver was airlifted in absolute emergency to the Jacques-Puel hospital in Rodez. Traffic on the RD 993 was temporarily interrupted during rescue operations, before resuming in the early evening.
