At Auto Plus, we like to give you the price of a car with all the options offered by its manufacturer. Today, we are tackling a car that caused a lot of talk when it was released, the new Serie 1 from BMW.

An M from €57,200

The Serie 1 at BMW is the entry level of the brand. In total, three engines are offered on the Serie 1, namely two petrol engines and one diesel. The starting price of the sedan is set at €38,900. We preferred to turn to the sportiest version, the M135 xDrive with a starting price of €57,200.
The latter gives you access to a four-cylinder engine which develops 300 hp and which allows the Serie 1 to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.
As it is an M version, you are entitled to style changes to make the body more sporty. You have, among other things, an aerodynamic kit, a new grille and an “M” rear spoiler. But this version doesn’t just bring you stylistic changes. In fact, it gives you access to all-wheel drive called “xDrive” or even “M Sport” brakes.
As you noticed, in this version, the Serie 1 increased to €57,200 i.e. €18,300 more than the basic version.

Personalization

On the customization side, BMW offers us on its configurator to change the exterior paint, the rims, the upholstery as well as the decorative inserts inside the passenger compartment. As for the colour, BMW offers the color “Alpinweiss uni” free of charge. However, we decided to go for one of the two most expensive in the BMW catalog, namely a metallic blue priced at 2,500 €.
Same for the rims. The 18-inch ones are free, but we once again opted for one of the two most expensive ones in the catalog. 19-inch two-tone rims charged 750 €.
As for the upholstery, the Serie 1 is equipped as standard with fabric upholstery. However, as an option, BMW offers imitation leather upholstery between 300 and 400 €. We took the most expensive, namely the two-tone upholstery in red and black. For decorative inserts, no extra charge is required. We therefore took the matte aluminum inserts.

The options

At BMW, everything related to options is in the form of a pack. On the Serie 1, the German brand gives you the choice between two packs.
The first is called the “Premium Pack” and is billed at €1,850. It offers comfort access (opening the car with your smartphone or key left in your pocket + opening the tailgate by foot). You also have an induction charger, “Advanced Full LED” front headlights or even high beams and an anti-dazzle interior rearview mirror.
The second is the “Innovation Pack” which is billed at €3,600. You have all the options of the previous pack with the addition of a head-up display, live navigation and even improved parking aids.
Obviously, we took the second pack, which quickly increases the bill.
Before revealing the final price of the car, we need to talk about the penalty. Indeed, the Serie 1 in this version is not spared. She even takes it head on. Without any hint of hybridization, the emissions of the Serie 1 M135 are, according to BMW, 177 g/km. The penalty therefore amounts to €17,247.

The final price

All this gives us a BMW Serie 1 at the price of €81,697. If we take as a reference the basic version whose call price is set at €38,900it is necessary to add €18,300 for the engine and the M version, €3,650 personalization, €3,600 options and €17,247 penalty. At this price, you have the best equipped and most expensive Serie 1 on the market.
