WELCOME

Hello and welcome to this live broadcast devoted throughout the day to news of the war in Ukraine.

A particularly important visit for kyiv. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he would go to Hungary on Thursday, November 7, to a meeting of the European Political Community (EPC), made up of the Twenty-Seven and their neighbors, from Turkey to Ukraine. “I will be in Budapest to attend the meeting of the European Political Community at the invitation of (Hungarian) Prime Minister Viktor Orban and the President of the European Council Charles Michel”, he declared.

With the victory in the American presidential election of his “friend” Donald Trump, Viktor Orban appears in a position of strength during this summit. First with his “peace mission” in July in Moscow, during which he met Russian President Vladimir Putin and which he decided without consultation with the EU. More recently, he visited Georgia where he welcomed the victory in the legislative elections of the ruling Conservative Party accused of pro-Russian drift, despite the “irregularities” elections reported by Brussels and Washington.

For Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukraine, the situation is more worrying after Donald Trump's victory. The American billionaire assured that he could impose peace in Ukraine in “24 hours”, without ever explaining how, but by decrying the extent of the aid paid to kyiv to resist the Russian invasion. He also made laudatory remarks about Vladimir Putin. Therefore, in Europe as in Ukraine, the fear is to see Donald Trump force Ukraine to negotiate with Russia under very unfavorable conditions.
