On average, last week, a liter of diesel sold for 1.6738 euros per liter in France. In recent weeks, this price has reached its lowest since last July, capping three weeks in a row below the 1.70 euro mark.

A third week below 1.70 euros per liter. According to the latest figures published this Monday by the Ministry of Ecological Transition, a liter of diesel sold on average last week for 1.6738 euros in France. This price was down 2.2 cents per liter compared to the previous week.

Three weeks below 1.70 euros per liter

This is the third consecutive week that diesel has remained below the 1.70 euro per liter mark. At 1.6738 euros, a liter of diesel finds a price that this fuel has not seen since last summer, on July 7, 2023 precisely. The liter of diesel then fell to 1.6658 euros.

Without reaching these levels, the price of a liter of unleaded 95-E10 is also falling: it sold on average for 1.8078 euros, or 2.6 cents less than the previous week.

Nearly 12 cents less since mid-April

This downward trend has continued for several weeks, since mid-April to be exact. Diesel has lost almost 12 cents since April 12, when it reached 1.7907 euros. Gasoline has recorded a drop of almost 10 cents since April 19.

Fuel prices at the pump depend on many factors, including global economic activity but also periods of major travel, such as the famous “driving season”, the summer period in the United States. Still according to figures from the Ministry of Ecological Transition, the price of a barrel was falling (-4 dollars) last week.
