It was a real tragedy that shook the town of Libourne, in Gironde. Indeed, a terrible car accident
occurred on the night of Saturday June 1st to Sunday June 2nd. Around 2:30 a.m. and while the vehicle was on the ring road, it suddenly left the roadway before hitting a tree.

Very quickly, help was deployed. Once there, they unfortunately noticed the death of three young people, aged 19 to 20. Two other passengers were rushed to hospital. The first, aged 16, then succumbed to his injuries. The second survived the shock, but was Severly injured.

An investigation opened after the broadcast of images of the victims’ bodies

After the tragedy, an investigation for manslaughter was opened and entrusted to the Libourne gendarmerie. Investigators are currently studying the hypothesis of a chase, which could explain the car accident. In addition to the tragic death of the four young people, another event added to the drama, as reported South West.

On Thursday June 6, the Libourne public prosecutor’s office announced
the opening of another investigation. This would follow the broadcast “on several social networks, images of the bodies of the accident victims”. These images would have been filmed by one or more people, before the arrival of emergency services.

A man was arrested and remanded in custody

posted on social media are considered shocking. In fact, they show mutilated bodies and violate the dignity of the victims. Enough to upset the families of the four young people, already in mourning.

On Wednesday June 5, a man linked to the investigation was
stopped. First placed in police custody, he was then brought back on Friday June 7. The suspect is located in
custody while awaiting his trial. This could provide answers about the dissemination of these particularly shocking images.
