Two people, who were on the boat struck by a seaplane on Saturday in the waters of Coal Harbor in Vancouver, are receiving treatment in hospital, confirms the city’s fire chief, Jarret Gray.

Vancouver police explained in a press release that a company seaplane Harbor Air and a pleasure boat collided around 1 p.m. on June 8.

According to a Radio-Canada journalist/CBC present near Canada Place, rescue boats circled around a small plane in the water near Brockton Point.

The Joint Rescue Coordination Center in Victoria confirms that the Kitsilano Coast Guard has dispatched two vessels on scene, a Laredo Sound and a fast rescue craft.

Once there, they collaborated with numerous agencies to intervenesays the center’s statement.

Police did not confirm the exact number of people injured, but said details would be provided as the investigation progressed.

The Transportation Safety Board said investigators were gathering information and assessing the crash, but little information was available as of early Saturday afternoon.

Coal Harbor is the site of downtown Vancouver’s seaplane terminal, served by carriers such as Harbor Air and Seair Seaplanes.
