The times fell again this Sunday afternoon during the second session of the Test Day of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2024, prematurely interrupted under a red flag after a straight shot from Kamui Kobayashi (Toyota n°7) at the level of Indianapolis.

After the Japanese, best time this morning, it was Kévin Estre and Porsche Penske who set the pace with a best lap established by the driver of the #963 #6 Porsche in 3’26″907. The Frenchman, associate to Laurens Vanthoor and André Lotterer, precedes the sister car n°4 of Mathieu Jaminet, Nick Tandy and Felipe Nasr by 0″449. The No. 8 Toyota of Sébastien Buemi – Ryo Hirakawa – Brendon Hartley completes the top 3 by seven tenths.

Followed by the Porsche n°5 – Porsche Penske of Frédéric Makowiecki – Michael Christensen – Matt Campbell, despite a puncture in the last half hour, and the Ferrari 499P n°50 – Ferrari AF Corse of Nicklas Nielsen – Antonio Fuoco – Miguel Molina for the top 5. The first BMW M Hybrid V8 n°20 – BMW M Team WRT of Frijns – Rast – S. van der Linde – Yelloly is 6th ahead of the first Lamborghini SC63 n°63 of Kvyat – Mortara – Bortolotti.

13th place for the first Peugeot 9X8 n°94 of Vandoorne – Duval – di Resta, ahead of the best Cadillac V-Series.R n°311 – Whelen Cadillac Racing of Derani – Aitken – Drugovich. 18th position for the first Alpine A424 n°35 from Milesi – Chatin – Habsburg.

Delayed by a technical problem at the end of the morning, which caused an engine change for safety reasons, the #15 BMW was able to return to the track.

In LMP2, Oliver Jarvis sets the benchmark time with the #22 – United Autosports Oreca in 3’34″704 ahead of the #25 – Algarve Pro Racing of Kaiser – Caldwell – of Angelis and the #30 – Duqueine Team of Allen – Simmenauer – Falb.
