he UN special rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, has just published a report in which she recommends the suspension of Israel from the UN as well as a total arms embargo.
Greater Israel
The report details the involvement of the entire state apparatus in the systematic destruction of all infrastructure essential to life in all occupied territories and targeting Palestinians as a group. The observation is simple: the genocidal violence unfolding in the Gaza Strip can only spread to the rest of Palestine.
Moreover, violence in the West Bank has increased exponentially since October 7, 2023, with the same methods as in Gaza: sieges, deprivation of water and food, targeting of medical infrastructure and healthcare workers, destruction of infrastructure sanitation, forced displacement, murders.
For Francesca Albanese, the goal is single: Greater Israel. And this is how we must analyze the Israeli strategy. She explains the scale of the massacres. Genocide is the final stage of a successful settlement.
The generals' plan
A part of the Israeli state no longer hides it. On October 21, an event was organized in front of Gaza to prepare for the next settlements, with Ben Gvir, Minister of National Security of Israel, other ministers and members of the Israeli Parliament. At the same time, the “generals' plan” continued in Jabalia, Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun, where more than 100,000 Palestinians are being ethnically cleansed, completely cut off from the world.
This plan aims to besiege, starve and forcibly transfer Palestinians from northern Gaza in order to annex this territory to Israel. Those who remain will be considered members or sympathizers of Hamas, and therefore a legitimate target. In these besieged towns, there has been no humanitarian aid or medicine for three weeks.
This strategy is based on the hope that the population will turn against the resistance, or that the resistance will give up. The only thing still standing in the way of this plan is the determination of the Palestinians who refuse to leave, despite constant bombing and starvation. The generals' plan is only the historical continuity of the Nakba which has continued for 76 years, the forced displacement of Palestinians for the installation of colonies.
These mass crimes are taking place at a time when South Africa was to submit its arguments to the International Court of Justice. To demonstrate genocidal intent and the destruction of living conditions in Gaza, the State submitted a 750-page argument and 4,000 pages of evidence. In the face of so much suffering, it seems almost too little.
