The day before the ceremony, the bride suffers a serious accident: “My teeth are missing”

On your wedding day, it’s best to be physically at your best. Photos and videos taken during this precious day are viewed years later. For Lydia Kessinger, seeing the images again risks bringing back a happy memory but tinged with pain.

As reported by DailyMail, this woman from Utah (United States) was to get married on April 27. The day before, with her future husband Alex, they are going to buy a mattress. It is much too big for their pick-up and the young woman has an idea: lie down on it to prevent it from moving during the journey.

“I started to cry”

Unfortunately, with the speed and the wind, the mattress lifted, throwing Lydia onto the asphalt while they were traveling at around 80 km/h. By a miracle, she was able to take shelter from the cars, but the shock was violent: “I remember screaming, flying into the air and rolling down the road. I remember Alex running up after stopping. He got down on his knees in front of me and I remember feeling my teeth on my tongue and I thought something was wrong…”

Although she fared relatively well, the injuries were significant: “I looked at Alex and asked him if my teeth were still there. I could see from his distraught face that something was missing. I started crying because we were getting married the next day and my teeth are missing.”

An emergency dentist

Every problem has its solution and the bride-to-be managed to urgently find a dentist who could redo her teeth: “I knew I could find a dentist in time, and if that hadn’t been possible, we still would have gotten married.”

The ceremony was still trying because her face was still scarred, and she had to spend the day with bandages on her wounds, particularly on her hands and arms. On the morning of the wedding, she couldn’t even wash herself and had to be helped by her mother.

She now describes this episode as a “movie” and encourages motorists to properly secure their cargo during transport in order to avoid this type of accident which could have been much more dramatic.
