Kyle Larson leaves Gateway drama behind. Former champions Kyle Busch and Kyle Larson were involved in a collision during the Enjoy Illinois 300 at Gateway last weekend. RCR’s Chevy No:8 suffered significant damage and did not finish the race, while Chevy No:5 earned a 10th place finish. Busch expressed his criticism of Larson after the incident.

Larson, who was primarily responsible for the collision, discussed the incident before this weekend’s race at the Sonoma Road Course. The HMS pilot used strong language to express his opinion and claimed that if he had not hit Busch from behind, the accident would not have happened.

Larson mentioned that he hadn’t told Busch about the accident and acknowledged that he may have frustrated Busch, but he didn’t intend for it to turn into a battle over who would give in. first. He described the situation directly.

He also acknowledged that it was probably his fault that the collision occurred and that he had irritated the veteran driver with his maneuver. Larson thinks he’s already moved past the incident and assumes Busch has, too.

One of the main topics of discussion before this race was whether Larson would receive a waiver from NASCAR for missing the Coke 600. However, unlike many in the NASCAR community who were worried about whether the Chevy driver would receive the waiver, Larson wasn’t worried.

The 2021 Cup champion appears to be in good spirits after receiving the waiver for Sonoma and moving past the collision with Busch. It will be interesting to see how Busch and Larson interact if they cross paths in the remaining races.
